judith Tolu Oladapo
launches African Diner in Coventry
Following years of planning, replanning, doubts, and reaffirmations, Judith Toluwanimi Oladapo is finally realising her childhood dream of launching a brand that makes genuine societal impact. You Diner, an African restaurant that nourishes people of all cultures, is set to launch this month in the heart of Coventry, the City of Culture.
As a person passionate about solution-driven action, the Warwick Business School alumnus, has stopped at nothing to secure endorsement for her Start-up visa even after an initial unsuccessful attempt.

Being a Nigerian entrepreneur in the UK is hard, more so introducing an African restaurant in an area where there's a huge market gap to fill. However, her vast experience gained from running a successful restaurant brand with her family in Nigeria, Captain Cook, has prepared her for this very moment.
Tolu doesn't only recognize the importance of adequate planning in creating a business, she understands the importance of uniqueness in creating a sustainable business, a brand not just fixated on monetary value but on the impact of its operations on the environment and the society she operates in.

Like so many people who want to have profound African experiences from the diaspora, Tolu wasn't going to settle for a mediocre brand that deviates from the authenticity of the that doesn't truly represent African culture. That is why she's launching You Diner as a sustainable African diner to promote the peculiar and tasty cuisine of Africa to persons of all nationality and race.
You diner
doesn't only aim to
educate
people about African Culture while
nourishing
them,
positively,
we aim to
impact the environment
through the use of
environmentally friendly
materials in all our processes
Fast foods don’t have to break your pocket or compromise your health, that is why You Diner’s menu is developed to ensure a balanced diet across all meal options.

Speaking about her motivation, Tolu recounts an inspiration quote she read in her early days in Warwick Business School;
"Restlesness is discontent and discontent is the first necessity of progress", saying the quote has been a boost to her passion to create solutions for people and put smiles on their faces.

Hence, You Diner is motivated to give people a personalised happy experience of African culture through its peculiar menu and sustainable processes.
